Platform

The most important part of my platform is "leading with empathy". To me this means listening to the issues that everyday Hoosiers are bringing to me, and allowing them to feel heard. Below are a few of the issues that are most relevant in our Statehouse right now, as well as nation wide.​

This also means ensuring every Hoosier, no matter their need, is able to access the things that they need. While this does mean accessibility for those who are disabled, this also means ensuring our immigrants have resources provided to them to start life in the United States, and that every Hoosier can live their truth.

My Stance On the Issues

Other Important Issues

The issues below are commonly held Democratic and American values and my stance on them:

Infrastructure:

  • Pro utilization of tax dollars for infrastructure projects where people are, not where corporate entities want to build. 

  • Pro public transportation - including ensuring the ADA is addressed on all options

  • Pro development of accessible neighborhoods and buildings, so ALL Hoosiers can access our infrastructure

​

Education:

  • Pro public schooling 

  • Pro tax dollars funding the education of our next generations

  • Pro paying teachers the wages they're due

  • Pro accountability of tax funding​

​

Wages:

  • Hoosiers are not paid enough for the rate of change occurring in costs of living.

  • Support medical and family leave plans to ensure employees and employers are supported

  • Pro-Union

​

​Personal Freedoms:​​

  • Pro-Choice

  • Pro ensuring that Hoosiers receive appropriate sexual education and can access contraceptives

    • This includes ensuring teenagers understand their bodies 

  • Government should not participate in private healthcare decisions. ​

  • Pro Same Sex Marriage

  • Pro Gender Affirming Care

  • Pro Gender Marker Options on birth certificates

  • Pro Citizens living their truth

Marijuana Legalization:

  • Pro legalization of marijuana

  • Tax dollars from sales should go to improve the lives of Hoosiers.

​

Immigration:

  • The diversity of America is what makes us strong. With people from all over the world, we have an opportunity to learn about issues in a way other countries do not.

  • A student at a diverse high school, I got to see this up close. I believe I am better for having learned from a young age how to co-exist with people who were different than me. 

  • This is something we should celebrate, and take the opportunity to learn from, not fear.
